Swiss-based Distalmotion, the manufacturer behind the Dexter surgical robot, has successfully closed a new financing round, led by Revival Healthcare and backed by the Swiss Entrepreneurs Fund. With over 1,000 surgeries already completed in Europe, the new capital aims to propel Dexter’s commercial expansion and bring innovative robotic surgery to more hospitals across the continent.
Distalmotion’s Dexter is a compact surgical robot that enhances laparoscopic procedures with robotic precision while maintaining direct surgeon control. Its two articulated arms and intuitive console allow seamless switching between robotic and traditional techniques, making it versatile for minimally invasive surgeries. Compatible with existing laparoscopic systems, Dexter is used across various specialities, including general surgery, gynaecology, and urology.
Since its 2022 launch, the CE-Mark-certified Dexter has performed over 1,000 procedures in European hospitals, proving its reliability. As Distalmotion moves towards FDA approval in the U.S., it has partnered with Proximie to expand globally, offering telepresence and data insights for improved surgical outcomes. Recent funding, led by Revival Healthcare with Swiss Entrepreneurs Fund, will support this growth phase.
