Swiss-based Relai, a self-custodial Bitcoin investment platform, has raised USD 12M in Series A funding led by ego death capital. With plans to expand across Europe and secure MiCA licensing by 2025, Relai aims to broaden access to Bitcoin investments and strengthen its position in the European market.
Amid a challenging fintech funding environment, Swiss Bitcoin platform Relai has closed a USD 12 million Series A round, led by Ego Death Capital with a USD 4 million commitment. Additional backers include Plan B Bitcoin Fund, Timechain, and Solit Group.
Relai specializes in self-custodial Bitcoin investments, targeting millennials and Bitcoin newcomers. The funds will drive geographic expansion beyond Switzerland and support the company’s pursuit of a MICA license by early 2025, positioning it as one of the first Bitcoin-focused platforms compliant with Europe’s evolving regulatory standards.
With this funding, Relai aims to enhance product development, scale its app to over 400 million users, and solidify its position as Europe’s leading Bitcoin-only platform for individuals and businesses.
The Fintech company participated in Venture Leaders Fintech in London in December 2024 and was ranked among the TOP 100 Swiss Startups from 2022 to 2024.
