On August 26, 2020, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Edward T. McMullen Jr., hosted the second virtual Investor Pitch Session for this year’s Swiss National Startup Teams. The 10 Venture Leaders Technology presented their innovative deeptech startups to a jury of five hand-selected investors, in front of an audience of further investors, corporates, and state representatives from Colorado, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
The unique Venture Leaders Technology experience, defined by networking and intense fundraising activities, holds a week-long immersion into the business and venture capital environment of the Silicon Valley for the 10 startups. The virtual pitch session has, therefore, been a welcome and insightful kick-off for the entrepreneurs, who could not only gain exposure to important players in the ecosystem but also benefit from hands-on feedback by the investor jury.

The Swiss entrepreneurs presented their startup in a virtual investor pitch, followed by interactive Q&A sessions and the jury’s final evaluation. The latter has confirmed the high-standing quality of the selected Venture Leaders along with their potential for the U.S. market. The jury members agree: Andreas Weckherlin (Endeavour Movement) said, “
It was an exciting session with passionate founders around great business ideas,” and Philipp Stauffer (fyrfly VC) added, “
Fantastic to reconnect with a stellar set of entrepreneurs. Great to hear about the continued strong U.S./Swiss economic partnership as well!”
