The 10 Venture Leaders Biotech could not have found a more fitting event to kick off the international roadshow that will take them to Boston in the fall: The entrepreneurs presented their innovations at the Swiss Biotech Day in Basel. As one of the leading biotechnology conferences in Europe, the event provided the 10 new Swiss National Startup Team members with the opportunity to network and get to know each other. Venture Leaders Biotech 2021 is co-organized by Venturelab and Swissnex and supported by EPF Lausanne, ETH Zurich, VISCHER, and the Canton of Zurich.

“The Venture Leaders Biotech startups 2021 demonstrate Switzerland’s position as a global biotech hub that provides high-quality innovation that will transform our future,” said Jordi Montserrat, managing partner at Venturelab. “With the upcoming roadshow to Boston, we want to facilitate connections and investment opportunities for the Venture Leaders Biotech 2021 so that their innovative power can reach its full potential.”

The kick-off event marked the first time the 10 Venture Leaders Medtech met and presented their startups in person. During the one-day workshop at the Swiss Biotech Day in Basel, the 10 Venture Leaders Biotech focused on getting to know each other and preparing for the roadshow to Boston in the fall.

Christian Wyss and Nadia Tarolli Schmidt, two attorneys at law at Venture Leaders partner VISCHER, gave the entrepreneurs critical advice to winning over and onboarding international investors. “We are excited and humbled to join forces with this outstanding group of biotech entrepreneurs. We are convinced their trip to Boston will open ample opportunities for investments, partnering deals, and talent retention. As the leading Swiss law firm for biotech, we are looking forward to covering their backs in all legal matters,” explained Christian Wyss.

For the Venture Leaders Biotech, the roadshow and the surrounding events advance professional and personal growth: “The Venture Leaders program will support Nemosia’s mission in many facets: Provide industry experts’ feedback and advisory on our business model and product launch strategy, offer visibility and fundraising and investors networking opportunities, help us develop international partnership and distribution channels, and enable learning and exchange with fellow entrepreneurs,” summarized Awa Diagne, the co-founder and CEO of Nemosia. Rajesh Jayachandran, the CSO of NextImmune, added, “I look forward to getting acquainted with passionate and like-minded people in various phases and streams of entrepreneurial activity and introspect those strategies needed to realize one’s dream in this volatile and demanding field.”
