The Zurich-based startup, which aims to revolutionize endoscopy with AI and robotics solutions, announced that it secured over CHF 500,000 in a seed round. The startup is a Venture Kick winner and Venture Leader Medtech alum.

aiEndoscopic (aiE) combines artificial intelligence and robotic endoscopy to empower medical professionals with assistive and autonomous solutions.

The startup's primary focus has been on the development of intuBot, an assistive device for airway management that improves the safety of tracheal intubation procedures. The medtech company asserts that intuBot is set to redefine the standard of care in the medical field.

The startup, which is a spin-off of ETH, USZ, and UZH, now announced that it secured over CHF 500,000 in seed funding in an equity round. The company attracted investments from Swiss and German business angels with extensive industry experience in the medtech sector. The capital will propel the company toward critical milestones, including the completion of the Innosuisse project and the initiation of first-in-human trials.

aiE won the Swiss Innovation Challenge last year, as well as the Special Award for Life Sciences supported by Hemex AG. The startup was also nominated for the ZKB Pioneer Award earlier this year; the winner will be announced at the end of May.

In 2021, aiE was awarded CHF 50,000 by Venture Kick. "Venture Kick helped us to get a better understanding of the Startup ecosystem and kicked our academic project into a scaling venture," said CEO and co-founder Philippe Ganz.

The startup was also chosen to participate in the Venture Leaders Medtech program in 2022, which took ten medtech innovators on an investor and business development roadshow in Boston.
