The Venture Leaders — the Swiss National Startup Team members — have a clear objective: They envision themselves as global players and aim for international expansion. The Venture Leaders Fintech roadshow 2025 brought 10 handpicked Swiss fintech entrepreneurs to London — one of the world's leading financial hubs — to increase their presence on the international stage. The Swiss National Startup Team members benefited from market exposure, pitch sessions with investors and financial service experts, and hands-on business development. The roadshow is organized by Venturelab in partnership with Swissnex, and supported by EPFL, ETH Zürich, PostFinance, and Walder Wyss.

Venturelab has been organizing international investor and business development roadshows for the Swiss National Startup Teams since 2006. The ambitious entrepreneurs and their promising startups are introduced to high-class investors and potential customers in leading technology hubs such as Silicon Valley, Boston, Asia, Barcelona, Munich, and London.

The Venture Leaders Fintech roadshow offers a one-week deep dive into the London financial ecosystem. This year's Venture Leaders Fintech entrepreneurs join an impressive group of Fintech alumni including high-flying startups such as Crypto Finance (acquired by Deutsche Börse), eCollect (acquired by Intrum), Imburse (acquired by Duck Creek Technologies), Investment Navigator (acquired by aosphere), Qumram (acquired by Dynatrace), LendWyden, and many more.

The ten Venture Leaders Fintech, selected from more than 50 applications, had the opportunity to build connections in the UK. They pitched their ventures to leading VCs and corporate investors, including Anthemis, Augmentum, Balderton Capital, Galaxy Digital, Motive Partners, Ontario Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG), and Tencent, receiving direct exposure and constructive feedback which helped them refine their strategies for approaching the UK market and pursuing international expansion despite current global uncertainties.

Anina Luisa Lutz from Calingo confirmed the many investor pitchings: "The week provided valuable insights into international VCs and offered opportunities to build great connections with VCs but also with fantastic founders. My expectations were more than met."

Participants were not only able to build a strong network in London with investors they also participated in the FTT Fintech Festival, joined workshops about how to land and set in the UK, and learned from Revolut how to grow an ecosystem.

"With the Venture Leaders program, we gained exposure to the UK ecosystem and investors, all packed into a week filled with exciting, events, pitches and networking. The contacts we made, both within the Venture Leaders cohort and across the UK ecosystem, are truly invaluable to us," highlighted Patrik Schär, CEO of Selma and Venture Leaders Fintech team captain.

The week-long roadshow in London also included networking opportunities, such as the business development agendas and expanded their networks with industry peers. The Swiss Embassy Fintech Reception connected the Swiss fintech delegation with top U.K. investors, partners, and experts in an exclusive networking evening hosted by Swiss Ambassador Dominique Paravicini. Furthermore, the raclette dinner with early-stage investors, the PostFinance networking reception, and the Swissnex Entrepreneurs' Fondue.

Anastasia Movcharenko from Calvin Risk summarized the roadshow: "Venture Leaders Fintech was an exceptional experience. The most valuable part was meeting inspiring founders and industry leaders — people who openly shared insights and challenged us to grow. In the end, it’s all about the people, and this program brings together some of the very best!"
