Venture Leader Mobile Ignacio Barrios's Startup Kido Dynamics on Helping Companies Make Smarter Decisions And MWC Barcelona 2020

Kido Dynamics, a Lausanne-based startup, helps companies understand people’s mobility to boost their business by using big data and machine learning technologies. We had the chance to talk to Ignacio Barrios, co-founder and CEO, about what his expectations are going to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with the Venture Leaders Mobile program and the Swiss National Startup Team.

 

How is Kido Dynamics changing the Mobile industry?
Mobile phone data is the best existing proxy to understand people’s mobility. But this data is massive, noisy and totally unstructured. Existing tools and techniques are unable to extract all meaningful and necessary information out of this data. With our technology, we allow telecom operators to efficiently monetize this data and generate powerful insights into multiple verticals including mobility, tourism or retail, so companies can make better and smarter decisions.

How important is it to be in Barcelona at the MWC? 
For any player in the mobile industry, MWC Barcelona is THE place to be. We have attended the last couple of years, and it represents a continuous flow of information, innovation and new challenges, which give us the opportunity to test our technology, exchange opinions with thought leaders, and better prepare us for the future.

What do you hope to achieve from the Venture Leaders Mobile 2020 roadshow?
Venture Leaders Mobile is the perfect program for start-ups, with the right mix between technology, industry and investors exposure. It would be very difficult for us as a start-up, or even impossible, to create and enjoy such a great scenario with high-level stakeholders.
